Founded in 2015 in the heart of the Fashion Valley, the Fashion Research Italy Foundation (FRI) is a non-profit organization founded by the cav. Alberto Masotti – formerly the patron of the La Perla fashion group – in the completely renovated spaces of the historic headquarters of the Group in Via del Fonditore 12 in Bologna (Zona Roveri).
An educational, exhibition and archive center dedicated to training, innovation and enhancement of the heritage of a key sector of the economic-productive system: fashion.
With an official act in May 2015 I set up the non-profit Fashion Research Italy Foundation with the will to play an “all-encompassing” role and to coordinate all the actors who from time to time will animate the Foundation itself, in order to develop new ways to travel together. This will be possible only if we believe, as I hope, in three fundamental values: trust, transparency and sharing.

Fashion Research Italy (FRI) was founded with the aim of supporting the Made in Italy fashion in the era of the dematerialization of goods triggered by the digital revolution, accompanying companies in the sector in their path of success and innovation.
By exercising an all-encompassing role of coordination, the ambition of the Foundation is to create a meeting and exchange ground for the various actors in the fashion sector, oriented to the triggering of a virtuous process at the service of companies and the community.
Manufacture and craftsmanship must seize new growth opportunities through training, memory, innovation, research and internationalization: fashion must be transformed into 4.0 fashion.

The training of professionals and entrepreneurs of today and tomorrow is one of the fundamental assets for guaranteeing the competitiveness of companies in the fashion sector. Therefore, Fashion Research Italy proposes an articulated training offer in collaboration with internationally renowned professionals and academics.
Tradition and research are the foundation of evolution. For this reason, Fashion Research Italy is also an exhibition and archive center in which to highlight the memory of manufacturing excellence protagonists of the Made in Italy fashion history, also making its archival heritage available as a source of inspiration for scholars and creative people who want to transform tradition in market value.
To accompany and stimulate the journey of fashion companies towards digital evolution, the Foundation will host the M Impression Punto Innovazione Project (P.IN): a catalyst able to facilitate the meeting between supply and demand of tools, solutions and professionalism of excellence for ferrying SMEs in 4.0 Industry.
An articulated and dynamic Foundation, rooted in the memory but focused on the future, which aims to leave a mark on the culture and feeling of the community pursuing some objectives that outline its values.

For further information, the staff of the Fashion Research Italy Foundation is available from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m..
